Volunteer divers help at Point Lobos

Hello,

While at Point Lobos this week Ranger Chuck asked me if BAUE divers will be interested in
helping with some of the outreach activities Point Lobos offers to school kids. I said of course
we're always looking for some good opportunities in this area.

So here is the request for help.

Divers are required for March 18,19 and 20. The jobs is to go out in the morning and collect
some invertebrate life to be displayed to school kids programs that visit the park in the morning. The animals
will be collected and kept in some water container during a few hrs and then but back in the water. At the same
time he needs a person on shore that will describe the animals that the divers collect for the day.

This is a great opportunity to put our resources to go usage, and increase the cooperation btw Point Lobos and
BAUE.

If you want to help on this activity please let me know. One day per team will be more than perfect for the volunteers
so you don't have to take much time away from your job.

We can take photos and add this to our web site as part of our outreach program.

Hi Ben,

I checked Susan roster and you're schedule for Frid with John K and Ildiko Also
I think Kevin will be there also.

The plan is to meet at Lobos at 7:30 to collect and be ready to show to the kids by 9:30. The rangers will open a little early for us those days.

I gather I'm coming thursday? I gave Rob the banner. I'll also be printing up some pictures and having them laminated so the kids can see some of the sorts of things we can't bring back.

This is the roster that Susan has so far. I'm not sure if she send it or not.
There will be two stations so each presenter will have its own set of 10
kids for about 15 min, then they'll rotate.

Allison offer to write a little info about the specimen and BAUE/MPA so we can have a more consistent delivery.

Any ideas on how to safely transport a nudibranch without injury?

A small tupperware container perhaps? I guess we'll need "goodie bags" huh?

I haven't heard what pocket you are supposed to stuff these guys into...

(Sea cucumber in left pocket and crabs in right?)
