For the second dive, we decided to try live boat retrieval. Again, we launched the non-scooter teams first so that they would be done and out of the water when the scooter team was done.

We started by following the rock structure to the west. We lost it rather quickly, but then found another structure maybe 150 yards W/NW of where we were. Similar rock formations - nice area.

We then headed to the east for a bit and cut in to the south towards shore. Once we found more rock structure, we headed more east trying to find the intake pipes for the Monterey Aquaurium. We succeeded in locating the pipes and followed them out to their intake.

A rather curious and playful sea lion followed us through most of the dive. He seemed intrigued by the fact that we moved almost as fast as he did. :-). When we got to the intakes, the sea lion came up and laid on top of one of them, providing a nice vantage point to watch what we were doing.

We then headed E/SE and located the underwater webcam. After a few "hello mom!"'s we decided to follow the video cable in a ways. Got a bit dull, so we decided to end the dive. We shot a bag (so the boat could begin to locate us) and headed to the surface.

The boat was there shortly after surfacing. Scooters were retrieved and we headed back in. Excellent day of diving and a very successful test run indeed!
